At least 2000 youths in Dandora area are set to land jobs in the hyped energy generating company that is to be built at Dandora Dumping site.
According to county executive for Environment Nairobi County Larry Wambua the mapping has already been done and procurement processes are on-going to ensure that the project kicks off in the next few months.
Wamubua says the county government targets job creation,management of Waste collected in Nairobi and power generation to the city residents.
About 24 international companies applied for the project that is likely to cost the taxpayer5 billion shillings.
Wambua further warned residents over illegal dumpsites with the one being operated at Gomongo-Korogocho slums on the spot.
There have been complaints that some politicians led by former Korogocho MCA Maxwel Ochar are operating a site at Next St. John Catholic Church illegally and attempts by county officials to close the site have been futile.
