A group of youth from Nairobi’s Githurai area are putting their artistic skills to use by making artistic products from scrape metal.
Robert Alolo one of the 12 artisans says their use of art in recycling scrape metal has made their products stand out from the other artisans in the market.
Alolo says before they start the process of making a product, they draw the designs on paper before the rest of them start crafting them out.
He says in a day they make up to 300 products which they later sell.
Among the products they are uniquely designing include candle stands, cooking pots, frying pans and jikos.
On a good day, the youth can make up to 5000 shillings which they divide amongst themselves.
