A group of women today marched in the streets to drum up support for former Kiambu Women representative Ann Nyokabi to be nominated as Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s deputy.
The group chanted Nyokabi’s name calling on Sonko to consider her for the deputy governor post that is yet to be filled after the resignation of Polycarp Igathe.
Top in Sonkos’ list are Tv anchor Ann Kiguta, lawyer Miguna Miguna, Nairobi County Education, Youth Affairs & Gender County Executive Committee Member Janet Ouko, businesswoman Agnes Kagure.
Former Starehe Member of Parliament Margaret Wanjiru, former Dagoretti North legislator Dennis Waweru, nominated senator Millicent Omanga, and businessman Muhoho Kenyatta were also on Sonko’s list.
Sonko and Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga were given 14 days to nominate a name, after which the County Assembly, would within 60 days vote.
