Several MP’s have come out and admitted that they’ve been on the receiving end of cyber bullying.
Majority Leader Aden Duale and Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa told the National Assembly that an anonymous woman who happens to have contacts of most legislators has been sending them her nude pictures.
They said that this has made it difficult to use their phone near their families and colleagues for fear of embarrassing photos popping up.
The Kiminini lawmaker Chris Wamalwa narrated how one day he received some nude photos while sitting with a female MP in Parliament and when he opened them, he felt ashamed and embarrassed.
Minority Leader Junet Mohamed also intimated that male MPs faced more cyber-bullying compared to their female counterparts.
The MPs have now summoned the Inspector-General of Police Joseph Boinnet, Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti, and Director General of Communication Authority Francis Wangusi, mobile service providers– Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom –to appear before them in the next seven days.
