Woman On The Run After Aborting And Dumping Foetus

Mathare residents have launched a manhunt for a woman who allegedly aborted and dumped a foetus at a dumping site.

The aborted foetus was discovered at a the dumping site by residents on Monday morning at Gitathura area.

Area residents claim that the lady known as Justin who dumped the foetus immediately took off after she realized that the neighbours were looking for her.

“She took off immediately she got wind that we were looking for her. She has in fact left her other children unattended to in the house,” another resident said.

Article 26 (IV) of the constitution of Kenya states that abortion is illegal in Kenya unless in the opinion of a trained health professional.

“Abortion is not permitted unless, in the opinion of a trained health professional, there is need for emergency treatment, or the life or health of the mother is in danger, or if permitted by any other written law,” states the constitution.
