Will Kane remain at Spurs after Juventus loss?

0 492

Despite an eye-catching performance, Tottenham Hotspurs were bundled out of the Champions league after they lost 2-1 to Juventus.

Pochettino’s men went into the match with an away goals cushion, and a mere draw would have been enough to propel them to the last 8.

After a few missed chances, Son Heung-min broke the dead-lock some minutes just before half time. However, all the hard work in both legs was not enough as Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dyballa both scored to ensure that the Turin giants proceed to the quarter final.

Mauricio Pochettino has managed to build an impressive team that boasts the likes of Harry Kane and Delle Alli. He has done that all the while steering away from big name signings.

However, Spurs have not won a major trophy in a decade. With the Premier League being a mirage and having been knocked out of Europe’s most elite competition, it will be hard for them to retain their young talents.

The Juventus loss may have been the last straw on Harry’s back. With the English man in fine form, he has courted the interest of Real Madrid and reports suggest that he may join them in the summer.

With a misfiring Benzema and after failing to land French wonder kid, Kylian Mbappe, Kane may finally be on his way out of Wembley.

Harry Kane has 102 goals for Spurs in 144 appearances that translates to 0.71 goals per match. He has been the league’s top scorer in the 2015/16 and the 2016/2017 season.

With such an impressive resume, it will be hard for Spurs to retain him. Moreover he has stated his desire to win trophies. With no major trophy in sight for Tottenham this season, he will seek greener pastures elsewhere.
