uhuruA section of Kenyans now want the government not to recover the frozen money in Switzerland saying it it safer there.

They were reacting to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s pact with Swiss President Alain Berset that will see the country recover the ill-gotten wealth hidden in Swiss Banks.

Led by Financial analyst Mohamed Wehliye, Kenyans who voiced their opinions on the recovering of the money argue that the money is safr there.

“I think the frozen Kenyan money in Switzerland is safer there. What do you think?” asked Wehliye on Twitter.

Embakasi MP Babu Owino and another Kenyan by the name John Githige stated that the money should be chanelled directly to to China to pay off the debts.

“The frozen Kenya’s money in Switzerland should be channelled directly to China as part of our debt repayment. Hio pesa ikirudishwa Kenya itapotea kwa upepo!” wrote Babu Owino.

Some however suggested that the money be given to individuals instead of getting back into the government coffers.

Here are some of the Reactions from Kenyans;

That’s like exactly what I’ve been thinking. In fact if the Swiss Government can remit those funds to individuals Kenyans it will be the wisest thing they can do.
