The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued an alert over heavy rainfall from tomorrow.
The weatherman in an advisory says heavy rainfall of more than 50mm is likely to occur from tomorrow in counties in Western, rift valley, Nyanza, Central and Nairobi.
The counties to be affected by the heavy rainfall include Kisii, Kericho, Bomets, Narok, Migori, Kakamega, Kajiado, Nakuru, Kwale, Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Kiambu, Murang’a and Taita Taveta.
“An increase in rainfall is expectd over various parts of the country… The heavy rainfall is likely is likely to continue on Friday 2nd March over counties,” read part of the advisory.
The weatherman is instructing residents in urban areas to be on the lookout for flashfloods.
“In dry riverbeds moving water may suddenly appear. Soil erosion may occur in areas that have been dry and have bare soils,” the advisory further stated.
