Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu is a free man now, this is after a Nairobi court on Wednesday ruled that the prosecution failed to prove its case against the legislator for inciting residents of Kayole against the Maasai community.
Trial Magistrate Joyce Gandani said that there was no evidence to put the accused on his defense, saying that the criminal charge against Waititu could not stand.
Waititu, then Embakasi MP, was accused of inciting Kayole residents against members of the Maasai community.
The legislator, during protests by residents following the killing of a street boy, demanded that Maasais leave the area.
Waititu and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria were cleared last Month of incitement to violence charges in a case concerning Cord leader Raila Odinga.
