The Eldoret High court has nullified Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter’s election citing poll malpractices.

Keter becomes the fifth MP to lose his seat following a successful petition by independent candidate Bernard Kibor.

Justice George Kimondo said the elections were not held in a free and fair environment.

Petitioner Bernard Kibor had accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision (IEBC) of colluding with Alfred Keter to rig him out in the closely contested polls.

The judge said that the respondent failed to produce evidence to counter what had been presented by the petitioner.

Keter becomes the second outspoken Jubilee to loose his seat after Kangongo Bowen of Marakwet East.

He has however blamed his political detractors over the outcome.
