Dozens of the Kenya paralympics team today blocked the Thika Superhighway in protest of unpaid allowances.
The paralympians who participated in the qualifying games for the 2020 World Paralympic Games in Morocco blocked a section of the Thika Superhighway for the better part of the morning.
Kennedy Dungi Kenya National Paralympics Committee Secretary General says Sports PS Peter Kaberia promised to pay them their allowances once they land in Nairobi.
Dungi further accused the Ministry of Sports Officials have been playing cat and mouse with them over the payment of their allowances since Tuesday.
The protests saw police physically assault some of the protesters in a bid to open up the superhighway.
