Kenyan International and Harambee Stars Captain Victor Mugubi Wanyama is set to open a state of the art football academy in Kenya.
Wanyama who currently plies his trade in Europe with English Premier League Side Tottenham Hotspurs is set to open the academy in Busia County.
Wanyama’s state of the art academy will have at least three football pitches of international standards. One of the pitches will have an all weather astro turf to be used during the heavy rains season.
Reliable sources told Ghetto radio News that the midfielder will also build a boarding school in the academy will admit children under the age of nine.
Wanyama’s decision comes against a backdrop of criticism and backlash facing his brother McDonald Mariga who is vying for the Kibra seat in the up coming by elections.
Mariga’s fierce critics are questioning his decision to vie on the basis of giving back to the community since he did not do much to the same community when he was earning millions in Europe.
