Legendary Swahili author and journalist Ken Walibora is dead.
According to reports, the renowned author died following a road accident along Landhies road in Nairobi on Friday 10th April.
Family and friends have been looking for him since Friday when he went missing.
News of his death broke out on social media early Wednesday with many netizens arguing that he is just another victim of social media murder.
Walibora is said to have been crossing the road, car keys in the hand, and a press card in his pocket, when he was knocked down by a matatu on Friday.
His remains were found at Kenyatta National Hospital Mortuary on Wednesday.
The author is famed for his 1996 Swahili novel Siku Njema which even went on to be used as a set book.His other novels include Kidagaa kimemwozea and Innocence long lost.
Until his death, he worked as An International Relations lecturer in the department of communication at Riara University. He also headed the Kiswahili Department at Nation Media Group.
Professor Walibora was born in Bungoma County, the family later moved to Kitale and settled in the nearby Cherangany.
He holds a PhD in Comparative Cultural Studies with an emphasis on world literature.
