Traders in Nairobi’s Ngara area are raising concern over the high rate of pollution going on in Nairobi River.

The traders state that laxity by Nairobi County Government to properly collect garbage has seen people dump plastic bags and human waste in the river.

Wachira mtoto wa Wanjiru a trader in the area says that the river has been abandoned for almost two years and this has affected people in Ngara.

Wachira is now calling on the National Government to work with city council to provide trucks to collect waste around Nairobi as this will greatly impact the dirty river and hygiene will be achieved
