The University Of Nairobi has suspended 62 students for allegedly participating in violent protests last week, over disputed student elections.
In a list of names posted on the university’s website, VC Peter Mbithi asked the students to collect their suspension letters from the Registrar, Students’ Affairs, by Friday.
Among those suspended is Mike Jacobs who was also in the race for Sonu chairman. He finished second after Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino.
Owino allegedly defeated Jacobs by engaging in malpractices, resulting in the protests during which Sonu offices and a hostel at the university were burned.
