Robert Matano will be in charge of Ulinzi Stars for another year after the club extended his contract for one more season, Ghetto Radio Sports can reveal.
Matano’s fate with the soldiers was unpredictable as his two-year contract had expired last month amid high speculation that he was poised for another top-tier club.
In late November last year, Matano was heavily linked to a move to Tusker FC but the move hit a snug after the bottlers sought the services of another tactician.
Having led law-enforcers to a second place finish in the last campaign behind SPL champions Gor Mahia, Ulinzi’s management decided to extend his contract until next season.
According to Ulinzi’s management, Matano was impressive last season and club officials are confident that he will replicate the stellar performance this season.
“Matano did a splendid job in 2015 helping us to finish as runners-up in the league it was a honorable performance and we expect him to do even better this season,” Ulinzi’s Secretary Joel Birgen said.
After a four week off-season break, Ulinzi resumed training on Wednesday January 6.
