President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday morning made an impromptu visit to the Embakasi ICD where seized containers are being stored.
The visit was prompted by complaints by Nairobi traders whose goods have been confiscated.
He was accompanied by CS Matiang’i, PS Kibicho and heads of the multi-agency task force.
Traders in Nairobi’s CBD had complained of lacking stock in their businesses after their imported goods were held in the depots.
Last year the government had launched a massive war against counterfeit goods that saw many imported goods being prohibited from entering the country.
