UASU calls for the arrest of University VCs over staff deductions scandal

UASU is now calling for the arrest of Vice Chancellors of Universities who have not been submitting staff deductions to the relevant agencies.

UASU Vice Chair David Mberia named University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, Moi University and Technical University as some of the universities that have not been submitting deductions.

An audit report by Ministry of Education stated that over 7 billion deductions could not be accounted for from the Universities.

The amounts that could not be traced include 4.5 billion of employees’ pension fund and Ksh. 2.6 billion of the Pay as You Earn.

Ksh 481 Million Sacco deduction could not be traced as well.
