Two children rescued from abusive parents

Two children were over the weekend rescued by social workers from the hands of abusive parents in Nairobi’s Kayole area.

Wycliff Anami a Social worker in Kayole says one child was rescued from his father who was allegedly using a panga to beat him.

Anami says he rescued the boy after he escaped from home and reported the incident at the Soweto Police Station.

At the police station Anami says he found another woman who had report an an alleged abuse on a child by her mother in Kayole area.

According to Anami the child had a swollen eye and bruises on her back.

He says the child’s aunt brought her to the police station after the mother admitted to physically abusing her.

The two suspects were however released on a cash bail by police.

The children are currently at the Home of Hope Children’s Home in Kayole.
