Tusker Unveils “Twende Rio” Campaign drive

IMAGE ONEKenya Breweries Limited through its flagship Tusker Lager enhanced its support for the Kenyan Team to the Rio Olympics by unveiling  a campaign dubbed “Twende Rio.”

The brewers launched the Tusker Gold Edition whereby the National Olympics Committee (NOCK) will get one shilling in any bottle sold.

According to the KBL Managing Director Jane Karuku the Tusker Gold Edition is one among the many facets that comprise the Twende Rio campaign.

More details of how Kenyans will be rewarded for their support of the campaign being made public soon.

Karukua added that the gesture conforms to KBL’s legacy of supporting the growth and development of sports in the country; a role that the company has played in various sports represented in the Olympic Games for many years.

“We see it as our duty to tell Kenya’s story through sports as it is one of the available avenues through which Kenyans unite for a common purpose,” said Ms Karuku.

The drink will retail at Ksh 140 and will be available across the Country.

Speaking at the same event, Team Kenya to Rio 2016 Chef de Mission Mr. Stephen Soi lauded Tusker’s initiative to support Team Kenya to the Olympics saying that it proves to the brand’s patriotism and genuine will to grow and develop sports in the country.

He further said that the partnership between NOC-K and Tusker has so far been instrumental in ensuring that teams got to attend qualification events without a hitch, further helping them inch closer to the Rio Olympics.

Tusker unveiled a Shs 21 million partnership deal with NOC-K for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in December last year. The partnership is spread across a period of one year which will help assist NOC-K in its preparations for the Olympic games that are scheduled to be held in Rio De Janeiro from the 2nd to the 21st of August 2016.
