Goldalyn Kakuya, who emerged top in KCPE examinations after scoring 455 marks, will join Kenya High School.

Kakuya, who attended St Ann Junior School Lubao in Kakamega county, scored 99A in English, 99A in Kiswahili, 85A in Maths, 88A in Science and 84A in Social Studies.

Sharon Nkatha, who followed Goldalyn closely, will attend Alliance Girls’ High School.

Education CS Fred Matiang’i says over 900,000 students who passed KCPE exams are set to join secondary school on 9TH of January next year after completion of a placement exercise that begun today.

The CS maintained saying the ministry will flag distribution of free text books on  4TH January with students receiving six books each on arrival following the new framework of free secondary education.
