Three Rogue DCI Detectives Arrested Over Robbery
Three Special Service Unit officers who reportedly robbed employees of a gas company have been arrested.
The three officers namely, William Mutua, Henry Maitai and Jonathan Sankale reportedly stole Ksh. 370,000 from the employees of Baraka Gas Company.
The officers were apparently acting on a tip off from members when they had been tipped that the company was illegally and unprocedurally refilling cylinders from various gas companies past curfew hours.
“Intercepting the company’s surveillance car (a Toyota Probox) where on board was the manager, the officers gained entry to the facility where they confiscated mobile phones of all workers moments before the business owner called the manager seeking to talk to the officers,”said the DCI.
The three have been disarmed and placed in police custody. Further investigations ongoing.
Meanwhile five members of a suspected criminal gang were last night ambushed and arrested in a rental house at Zanzibar area in Rurii-Nakuru County.
Police recovered two pairs of military uniforms, rolls of bhang, bottles of alcohol and several sim cards were found.
