Three people were today morning arrested and 19 gambling machines confiscated following an operation on gambling machines by Mathare leaders.
The operation which was headed by Mathare Deputy County Commissioner Teddy Igemo raised concern over the gambling machines which has misled many children in the area.
Igemo specifically raised concern over a machine specifically known as Kanyondo that school children are spending their parents’ money on.
Last month Security and Interior Coordination Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i ordered the closure of all gambling places and the arrest of those perpetrating the vice.
Those arrested in today’s operation in Mathare were taken to the Huruma Police Station.
