Three high school students in Makueni County have been arrested for allegedly conspiring to poison their classmate over a boyfriend.
The girls named Beatrice Musomi, Mercy Wanjiku and Purity Akinyi from Makueni Girls High School had planned to lace classmate Faustine Kavuva’s lunch meal over a boyfriend from the neighbouring Makueni Boys.
A police report states that the three students all aged 15 years stole chemicals from the school’s laboratory only for Akinyi who had planned to execute the action to refuse to do so.
“The plan failed when the executor, (Akinyi) refused to execute this leading to a quarrel amongst themselves. It is at this point that Mercy Wanjiku revealed the conspiracy to the class prefect,” read the report.
Wanjiku is then reported to have told the class prefect what they had planned to do. The prefect in turn reported the issue to the school’s Deputy Principal Dorcas Nzioka.
It is Nzioka who reported them to the Makueni Police.
The three minors are currently at the police station for interrogations and further necessary police action.
