Teachers union, The Kenya national Union of Teachers (KNUT) has joined the Central Organisation for Trade Unions (COTU).

COTU secretary General Francis Atwoli says KNUT’s move was endorsed yesterday by COTU executive committee.

‘‘I want to confirm that Kenya National Union of Teachers has joined us and this is great and as (COTU) will ensure teachers rights are well protected at all levels.’’ Atwoli said.

He further  described the move as historic saying the energy in KNUT combined with that of COTU will foster great things for workers in the country.

Knut is now top in COTU representation and will have a better bargain for every cake.

COTU has also appointed KNUT chairman Wycliffe Etole Omucheyi as a board member,Tom Mboya labor College.
