The Kenya National Union of Teachers has issued a strike notice over an alleged violation of labour rights by the Teachers Service Commission.
KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion says the strike begin on the 2nd of January next year.
“Merry Christmas… but we can’t promise you that the new year will start well… parents should adjust their budgets very well because Christmas will be extended into the new year” said Wilson Sossion.
Among the issues KNUT is fighting against is the delocalization of teachers which he claims has broken some families.
Sossion also protested the failure by the TSC to promote teachers on merit, qualification and long service.
