uniformA group of retired teachers has now differed with the government on the proposed single  uniform  to all students saying the move is ill-advised and will propagate impunity among students.

Led by  former Teacher at Alliance Girls Mary Ariviza Mwami, the retired teachers argue that if implemented the proposal will see  parents and the society fail in identifying students involved in misconduct outside school.

According to the them discipline in students can only be achieved through good policies in school and the education principal secretary Belio Kipsang should rethink the matter before implementation.

Meanwhile they have asked the government to move with speed and get  to the bottom of the on-going unrest in schools.

Fire incidences were reported in four schools on Tuesday night, namely Thurdibuoro in Kisumu County, Dr. Aloo Gumbe in Kisumu County, Makhokho Secondary School in Kakamega County and Kisii High School in Kisii County.

Close to 20 schools have been closed  with bigger number being seen in Nyanza region.
