Suspected thugs have made away with Ksh 72 Million meant for a Standard Chartered Bank ATM in Nairobi West at around 6 am.
The thugs reportedly posed as police officers providing escort to G4S employees who had collected the cash from the G4S Headquarters.
A police report filed at the Madaraka Police Station in Lang’ata Division states that the three thugs waited until the G4S officers arrived at the ATM and requested for passwords to open the ATMs before attacking the officers.
“The officers who were escorting the cash turned to be robbers and demanded all their phones and offloaded the cash to another car make Noah that emerged and they made away with 13 bags of cash roughly 72 million,” read the report.
No arrests have been made so far.
