Starehe MP Jaguar injured during Marikiti traders demonstrations

jaguarStarehe MP Charles Njagua popularly known as Jaguar injured his ankle during the running battles between Marikiti traders and the police that happened on Thursday morning.

Jaguar says he was injured after a county askari hurled a stone at him during the demonstrations.

He was rushed at the Karen Hospital where he was treated and later discharged.

Marikiti traders today protested harassment by City Council askaris have lit bonfires on the road and blocked a section of the road.

They also demanded the release of one of their Chairperson whom they say was arrested yesterday for allegedly defending one of the traders who was allegedly beaten by a council askari.

Police’s efforts to disperse the traders using teargas have been futile as the traders keep retreating and coming back for more demonstrations
