The term for Commissioners at the Sarah Serem-led Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) is due to end today.
The Commission has today held a luncheon to mark the end of term after the completion of six years in office which is non-renewable.
While unveiling a technical report detailing achievements and challenges it has faced Serem thanked the National gov’t for giving her an opportunity to lead the commission and believing in the entire team to deliver our mandate.
She said The SRC boldly carried out job evaluation exercise which concluded this year saying the historic assignment will be felt in the years to come.
She added that some of the main challenges they face as a commission include glamour for higher pay, proliferation of allowances and inadequate compliance.
Deputy President William Ruto who was present at the occasion lauded the Commission for its professionalism, high standards and commitment during its six-year tenure saying the harmonization of salaries in the public sector has ensured a motivated, stable and productive workforce
