Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has suspended the Nairobi County Market Director Fredrick Ndonyo over claims he made that the outlawed Mungiki Sect is demanding shares from revenue collected in the markets.

Ndonyo last week told the Nairobi County Assembly Trades Committee that the Mungiki sect has been harassing them and demanding a share of what they collect from markets.

Ndonyo had been summoned by the committee over the low revenue collected from markets.

He was suspended on Tuesday over the sentiments.

A source close to Ghetto Radio stated that Ndonyo had been suspended among other issues like unlawful allocation of market places and defying county government procedures with regards to markets.
