Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has now revealed the names of four candidates set to replace Polycarp Igathe as the Deputy Governor.

Speaking at a local radio station Wednesday, Sonko stated that he had shortlisted Agnes Kagure, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, Lawyer Karen Nyamu and Jane Weru.

The Nairobi County Deputy Governor’s seat fell vacant after Sonko’s Deputy Polycarp Igathe resigned in January.

Sonko also refuted claims that he was reluctant in appointing someone to deputise him.

According to Sonko he wants a deputy who can also stand against the ucartels in case they try to eliminate them.

“You know these cartels prefer someone who they can steal with so I have to be careful,” he added.
