Sonko Recue Team faces backlash for giving “fake” emergency hotlines

The Sonko Rescue Team is facing a backlash from a section Nairobi residents over its inability to live to its promise of offering emergency services to Nairobi residents.

The residents claim that the emergency lines the team has given out to members of the public are not working.

A Taxi Driver from Jogoo iRoad says last week they tried the Sonko Recue Team’s number to help take a pregnant woman to the hospital but none of the the lines were going through.

The woman who almost gave birth on Jogoo Road unfortunately lost her baby on their way to the hospital.

Sonko Rescue Team Chairman Mathias Owino popularly known as Swaleh has however refuted the claims of running down stating that they are in the process of changing the emergency hotlines.

Sonko Rescue Team is a group formed by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to offer emergency and other charitable services to low income earners in Kenya.

SRT has on Twitter put 0735100100 as its hotline number.
