Sonko lists his property as among the many set for demolition

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko his listed his property as among the many properties set to be demolished by the county government.

Sonko has listed his Buruburu property and that of former Starehe MP Maina Kamanda’s property as among 15 utilities marked for demolition.

In a statement Sonko asked owners and occupants of the utilities marked to remove their valuables to avoid unnecessary losses.\

“Better be a one term Governor and leave a legacy than entertaining grabbing of public land/utilities. Remove all your valuables from the under mentioned public utilities with immediate effect,” said Sonko.

Sonko has further stated that Nairobi County officials and NEMA officials involved in the land grabbing and approval of buildings on public utilities will also be prosecuted alongside the suspected grabber.

Here is a list of the buildings and utilities marked for demolition according to Sonko;

1.Proposed land for Gigiri & Ruaraka firestations;

  1. Highridge hospital in parklands;
  2. New muthaiga thigiri ridge county dispensary & Nursery school;

4.Grabbed Pumwani hospital expansion structures;

  1. Eastleigh county Market;

6.Mwariro county market;

7.Langata primary school land;

8.St. Catherine primary school land;

9.Buruburu girls school land;

10.Martin Luther primary school land;

  1. Kamkunji Secondary school land;

12.Langata sec. school land;

13.grabbed land reserved for South C market;

14 Grabbed land reserved for Nyayo estate police post,

15.All county public roads/ accesses including my buru buru plot & maina kamandas, All grabbed land in all the estates within Nairobi reserved for playgrounds, All grabbed public social halls; All encroachments on public land including houses constructed on sewer line & Nairobi water pipeline.
