Slum Boys seeks to maintain lead as League resumes

KimanziMathare united  will be seeking to maintain their position as the League resumes after a two week international break.

The Slum Boys are set to battle City Stars Wednesday 30th March at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Mathare United is sitting at the top with 11 points which Coach Kimanzi says are not enough given the five games already played.

“The points we have are not enough,but we are gaming up and we hope to achieve more points”

Coach Kimanzi however,admits the game will be tough and further explains that as the match goes on other teams are also gaming up.

“It will be a tighter and tougher league because the quality of teams in the lower table has improved”

“But we are prepared and ready for the face off,at the moment we have no injuries and we hope to do better in the sixth march compared to our performance in the last match” He says.

Mathare United increased their Lead after convincingly beating Sofapaka FC 5-2 away on Saturday 27th February at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

From five matches, Mathare United won three and drew in two pushing them to the league’s peak with a goal difference count of five, two above the second placed AFC Leopards.
