Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore is dead

Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore has succumbed to cancer.

Collymore aged 61 died at his home on Monday morning after battling leukemia for quite some time.

In October 2017 Collymore took leave from Safaricom and headed to the UK to receive treatment for Acute Myeloid Cancer.

He however returned in July 2018 after completing treatment.

A statement by Safaricom Chairman Nicholas Ng’ang’a stated that since his return, Collymore has been undergoing treatment in various hospitals and most recently the Aga Khan Hospital.

He leaves behind a wife and four children
