Deputy president William Ruto visited Harambee stars during their training session at Kasarani stadium pledging the government support for the team.
The Deputy President said that the government has released 25 million through the ministry of sports which the football federation had requested for allowances.
Ruto also says that government has committed a special fund to ensure sports personalities have requisite infrastructure and the necessary financial support they require.
The Deputy President has also promised to give the national team 50 million if they qualify for AFCON.
Harambee stars will play Ethiopia in the return leg on Sunday at Kasarani stadium with the Ministry of Sports saying entrance for the game will be free to give Kenyans a chance to attend in large numbers to support the team
Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama promised Kenyans that they will do their best during the game at home calling out all the fans to come out in large numbers to support the team and that player allowances should be handled before the match to allow them to focus on the game.
