Deputy President William Ruto has blamed CORD for the ongoing 2022 succession talk, saying that they are the most likely to gain from the divisions caused within the ruling Jubilee Coalition.According to the DP, the 2022 talk is based on creating divisions within the ruling coalition and urged supporters not to be swayed by it.
He accused CORD Leader Raila Odinga of forcing through supposed divisions between the Jubilee Coalition support communities, the Kikuyu and Kalenjin and stated categorically that it would not succeed.
There has been serial talk on the 2022 succession plan and whether the Kikuyu community will support DP Ruto once President Uhuru Kenyatta exits the Presidency if he wins come 2017.
Meanwhile Kiharu member of parliament Irungu Kang’ata has petitioned TNA to recall Senator Paul Njoroge’s nomination, following his persistent remarks that the Mt Kenya region will not support DP William Ruto for President in 2022.
Addressing journalists at Parliament Buildings on Thursday, he gave TNA chairman Johnson Sakaja five days to take action or he will deem him part of the ‘scheme to derail’ Ruto’s ambition of ascending to power.
