“Rogue Officer Ordered Me To Carry My Husband’s Body After He Shot Him Dead”

The police officer who shot dead a young man in Majengo slums was reportedly drunk at the time of the incident.
Ghetto Radio has learnt that the officer showed no remorse of what he had done and instead ordered the widow of the deceased to carry her husband’s body to the hospital.
Rukia Juma Ali, the wife of the deceased told Ghetto Radio News that the officer who was in the company of his colleague admitted to shooting the deceased two times only claiming that it was a rubber bullet.
“I was called by neighbours just moments after he had been shot and found him lying in a pool of blood. I then asked one of the officers why they had shot him, one officer told me ‘It is not me, it is him. He then turned to his colleague and asked him why he had shot him and told him that he cannot afford to be part of the mess,” narrates Rukia.
“The officer who was not remorseful at all then turned to me and asked me, “why are you crying and he is not yet dead? In fact this is just a rubber bullet.” he then ordered me to carry him and take him to the hospital!!!” narrates Rukia.
Rukia a 23 year old mother of one says that her husband was the family’s bread winner. He earned a living by teaching young children how to skate.
The deceased’s mother Mariam Mawathe is now crying for justice following the brutal killing of her son saying that he had no any criminal record.
The brutal murder of Majani by police sparked a two day demonstrations in Majengo by police, leading to the shooting of two other demonstrators.
The accused officer was arrested on Friday and is yet to be arraigned in court.
Independent Police Oversight Authority has already launched investigations in to the killing.
