Re-construction of Deep Sea slum houses that got burnt last weekend in Westlands area has begun.

So far close to 200 houses have been re-constructed with the support of  Kenya Redcross, Nairobi city county  government and other well wishers.

Today  disaster management unit  Nairobi county government visited the  826 people that were affected where fodsstuffs, blankets and other household items were donated.

According to chief officer disaster management Ann Mwenda the program will continue untill the victims  are fully settled.

Meanwhile the police are yet to establish the cuase of the fire that razed the 267 houses.

Area assistant commissioner Benson Moisori  however, indicated that investigations are underway but rubbished claims that it was politically instigated as indicated by some residents.
