POGBAAFP-Real Madrid have abandoned their pursuit of France star Paul Pogba and is Manchester United-bound, according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.

Real and United are the only two clubs interested in landing Pogba, but it is claimed United have blown the 11-time European champions out of the water with a colossal bid for the 23-year-old.

Balague told BBC Radio 5live  that United will pay £100million to Juventus for Pogba, as well as 25 million euros to agent Mino Raiola and between 13 and 15 million euros plus bonuses per year to Pogba in wages.

“Real Madrid have basically said: ‘no way we’re going to pay that’ and they’ve abandoned the auction,” Balague said.

“So I think he’s Manchester United-bound. Did he want to go to Old Trafford and play in the Europa League? I don’t know, I don’t think so.”

Pogba bidding war to begin

In a contrasting report, Italian outlet Gazetta World say Real Madrid WILL enter a bidding war with United for Pogba’s services.

They claim the world record transfer fee is a “certainty” to be broken and the first official offer from either club will be lodged immediately after Sunday’s Euro 2016 final.

Gazzetta World say that bid will come from United and will be between 100 and 120 million euros.

Pogba is thought to favour a move to Spain but the Red Devils are capable of blowing Real out of the water with their financial might.

Jose Mourinho risks upsetting his Manchester Unitedsquad if he allows Juan Matato leave the club this summer.

The Spaniard is a popular figure among his peers at Old Trafford who want him to stay at the club, report the Manchester Evening News.

Mourinho appeased the United squad before he met them by offering vice-captain Michael Carrick a contract extension weeks after his appointment was confirmed.

United players arranged a get together two days following the FA cup final in Carrick’s honour, since they were uncertain about his future, but Mata’s United career was plunged into further doubt by Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s arrival.

Mata operated mainly on the right for United last season – which is where Mkhitaryan excelled for Borussia Dortmund.

Jesse Lingard and Adnan Januzaj have also played their best football for United on the right flank while Mourinho praised Mkhitaryan’s ‘change of speed with the ball and without the ball’.

Mata, 28, is understood to not see any issues with Mourinho arriving unless the Portuguese decides to create one with the player he jettisoned from Chelsea.

Manchester United new boys Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly posed for pictures after returning from training as they continue to prepare for life at the Red Devils, wites James Whaling.

Jose Mourinho was also snapped outside the Lowry Hotel with the United stars not involved at Euro 2016 back for pre-season.

Mkhitaryan and Bailly have joined Zlatan Ibrahimovic as new recruits at Old Trafford following the appointment of Mourinho as manager.

The Special One has replaced Louis van Gaal in the hotseat at the Theatre of Dreams after the Dutchman was relieved of his duties following his failure to secure Champions League football.

Mkhitaryan has joined on a four-year deal from Borussia Dortmund after United splashed £26.3million for the winger.
