Opposition leader Raila Odinga has rejected talks that him and President Uhuru Kenyatta are products of political dynasties.
Speaking at the funeral service for former Maendeleo Ya wanawake Chair lady Jane Kiano, Raila stated that they have worked hard to get to where they are.
He also stated that describing them as products of a dynasty just because they come from prominent families was unfair.
“There is no dynasty. Those people struggled on their own,” Raila told mourners.
The Odinga and Kenyatta families have on numerous occasions been referred to as political dynasties as they have intermittedly held Kenya’s top leadership since 1963.
Raila said he was equally from a ‘hustler’ family amidst a suppressed laughter from the crowd.
