Pumwani Maternity Hospital is now on the best side of the public following improved services that is quite lucid at the facility.
There is improved services right from the entrance, since the impromptu visit by governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko that unearthed dead bodies, the facility now enjoys improved equipment and infrastructure.
Spot check done by Ghetto Radio News can now reveal that the new phase of Pumwani is much better and more appealing to the public.There is a customer care desk that has not been in the facility in previous times. Other notable change is the main entrance that now has a new well built gate and paintings.
The hospital Administrator Geoffrey Mosiria says the impromptu visit by the governor played a major role in refurbishment of Pumwani and that a lot has been done.
‘‘The contractor is on site and we are developing a new block,our ward 4 and 5 have been renovated and equipped with modern medical machines ,we also have a new mortuary and cold room.’’ He stated.
Mosiria further mentioned that they have additional nurses and doctors,and the ratios have met international standards which is 1 doctor to 20 patients.
‘‘Since I took over we have been co-operating very well with our governor to ensure Pumwani gives the best services,’’ Mosiria added.
Sonko has continued with impromptu visits at the facility to ensure improved services.
The facility is being guarded 24 HRS by administrative police who makes sure those seeking services adhere to security protocols .
‘‘We do not have unnecessary crowds at the gate and inside Pumwani, our security officers ensures mothers leaving the facility with their new born babies, have all the documents required before they are allowed out ..this has helped to address the issues of baby-theft.’’ Mosiria said.
