The government has been urged to increase the number of teachers in public high schools as well as fund for infrastructure and equipments in schools.
According to Ofafa Jericho High School Deputy Principal Mwelesa Veronica, teachers are okay with the ministry of education’s new guideline of fee reduction, but says most schools were still paying loans that helped cater for school equipment and infrastructure.
She also says that most schools have hired teachers by the Community Based Organizations and therefore cutting fees means they cannot afford to be hired.
Mwelesa adds that currently they are using 5 classes from the neighbouring primary school as their school classes are already full.
