President Uhuru Kenyatta will host the Kenya Sevens today at State house to celebrate their victory.
The Kenya Sevens made history winning the first Main Cup when they beat islanders Fiji to lift Singapore7s trophy at the World Rugby Sevens Series on Sunday.
The President who was quick to act after the historic win initially surprised the rugby players with goodies that will inspire them to win more trophies.
Meanwhile Collins Injera who was named the eighth HSBC player of the final after his two tries helped Kenya to a 30-7 win over Fiji in the HSBC Singapore Sevens Cup final expressed his delightment.
“I am happy with what we were able to achieve as a team and it came out right”.
“Fiji is one team that is at the top in the world rugby ranking,and for us to have won it took determination and hard work.”
“The victory in Singapore has given us hope and confidence that we can make it”.
The Rugby Sevens Coach Benjamin Ayimba on the other hand heaped praise on his charges, saying their resilience, determination and hard work paid.
