President Uhuru Kenyatta today led hundreds of mourners in paying tribute to the departed multi party democracy hero Kenneth Matiba.
Speaking at the All Saints Cathedral where the service was held, Uhuru eulogised Matiba as a leader who was committed to hard work and was willing to surrender his desire for personal gains to ensure properity for all.
Uhuru stated that Matiba was a leader who nurtured many youths in politics and was never intimidated by them.
His sentiments were echoed by deputy president William Ruto who said the departed politician made huge personal sacrifices for the country.
Former President Mwai Kibaki, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Senate majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Interior CS Fred Matiang’i were among the leaders present at the requiem mass.
