It was a sad and mysterious morning for the family and friends of a popular Kalenjin musician, Diana Chemutai Musila, 30, popularly known as Chelele after her body was found last Saturday morning at her house in Kapwen, Bomet County.
Police say that Chelele’s body had visible several stab wounds.
Chelele’s body was allegedly found by her younger sister -Beatrice, who went to her “long deserted” home after she got worried over Chelele’s phone not going through for a couple of days.
This comes months after Chelele attempted a failed suicide and got hospitalized for a while. Police have however made it clear that Chelele might have been murdered in cold blood elsewhere before her body being dumped in her home as the gate and door were found open with no sign of any forceful entry.
“The gate and the door to the house were open and had no signs of a break-in; we have gathered some details of the crime scene which we hope will help us in the investigations,” reported Ms Kithei,a police commander.
She had a number of businesses just to name a bar and restaurant. Remarkably,Chelele had had recorded a good number of hit tracks popular to her native fans including; Maiywek (alcohol), Igaigayan (treat me well),Meus Kondo (don’t mistreat your wife), Mapenzi,Binti Osama and Mashabik.
Chelele had a set of twin kids. May her soul Rest in Peace as we hope will arrest her murderer and justice executed accordingly to them.
