Police were on Tuesday morning forced to use teargas to disperse Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s supporters who had accompanied him to the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission offices where he had been summoned.
Sonko’s supporters were protesting the numerous summons given to Sonko by the anti corruption commission.
This is the third time Sonko is being summoned at the EACC offices for interrogation in a span of less than two months.
The supporters claim that EACC is plotting to finish Sonko politically by frustrating him and putting fake corruption allegations against him.
The allegations come just a day after Sonko released a dossier accusing EACC Director of Investigations Mr. Abdi Mohamud of fighting him over his stand against land grabbing in Nairobi.
In the dossier, Sonko claims that, “Abdi Mohamud EACC Director of investigation was paid Kshs.85 million bribe to fix me so that Guyo can become governor of Nairobi.”
