Police launch manhunt for man suspected of murdering wife over “Ugali”
There was shock and disbelief in Ruaraka Nairobi after a man stabbed his wife to death after she served him with a small portion of Ugali.
Police who have launched investigations into the incident allege that the suspect Patrick Odudo was angered after his wife served him what he considered an inadequate portion of his dinner.
The mutilated body of the 23 year old victim has been taken to city mortuary with investigation is underway.
The killing is the latest sign of suffering caused by rising cost of living and skyrocketing cost of maize.
On Tuesday the government took drastic steps to reduce food prices by launching a Sh6.5 billion subsidy programme for maize.
Consumers are expected to enjoy the short-term relief of cheap Unga at Sh90 for a two-kilo packet until July 31.
