The National Police Service Commission has refuted media reports of mass resignations of police officers.

Chairman Johnston Kavuludi said the claims are a creation of the media and propagandists.

He said neither the commission nor the Inspector General of Police has received a letter from any officer.

This followed reports that over 1,000 graduate officers have submitted their resignation letter to the inspector general after their salaries were slashed.

Meanwhile the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights has condemned the National Police Service Commision for slashing salaries of the police.

Mbogori said that the pay cut will violate the social and economical rights of the officers.
